What is this?... banana skin week?
So last week I slipped on a banana (metaphorically), somehow waking up with a tweaked wrist that wouldn't rotate correctly.
Those banana skins can take on many forms that will trip you up and put a spanner in the works of your training.
This morning I had one of those days:
Woke up at 2am watching the ceiling, wanting to get back to sleep and starting to panic that I wouldn't be able to.
3.13am still awake. Then drifted somewhat only to be woken by the church bells tolling 4am.
Finally got to sleep (I know I slept because I had a dream), for my alarm to go off at 4.43am.
Then typically slept right through my snooze...twice.
Finally left the house feeling like a zombie, heavy head sluggish.
7.00am the gym is empty while I'm training my clients.
7.30am and nothing is free so the whole workout got turned on it's head.
Missed out all my Sealfit training so I'm going to have to add that in tomorrow.
A1. DB Chest press 20x15 26x15 30x15 32x15
A2. Wide Chins x8 x5 x5 x4
A3. Pulldowns 80x15 90x15 100x15 110x15
B1. Incline DB Chest press 22x15 24x15 26x15 30x15
B2. Pushups x15 x15 x15 x15
B3. Single Arm rows 32x15 32x15 32x15 32x15
C1. Cable Crossovers 20x12 20x12 20x12 20x12
C2. EZ Bent over rows 20eex10 20eex10 20eex10 20eex10
Basically the entire workout had to be rebuilt from the ground up. Nothing worked.
This afternoon I full intended to finish with the Sealfit elements I'd missed.
Instead absolute blinding headache stopped that.
On days like today you just have to shrug your shoulders and accept things didn't work out. Do the best you can, and make do.
Yeah sure some people will say, oh never be beaten, do it anyway.
Well maybe they're a professional and it's their job.
Maybe they choose not to listen to their bodies.
Or maybe they are just clueless.
There are going to be some days when no matter what you do, nothing comes right. Just a perfect little storm in a teacup.
Other days... you're making excuses and just ducking the hard work.
Which is it?
