So sore...

This week I connected back up with a groups of guys I usually train with over the summer. I am the 'old man' of the group, which doesn't mean I get my backside handed to me, although it frequently does.

Thursdays workout was a killer. Then Friday's spin, smashed my legs again. Then last night's felt pretty much under control till the last 2 exercises and both of us changed color multiple times. Red to green, then back to red then back to green, nasty.

Then this mornings workout took an already sore body and just broke it a little bit more. Now sitting here hurting. Which isn't a bad thing.

The good thing about these guys is they ALWAYS look to make the exercises as hard as possible. If they pick up the wrong weight (too light), each and every rep is slowed down and the movement emphasized. If your ego leads you to picking up a too heavy weight, then you have to finish the set, which can be brutal.

Short circuits are executed with perfect form, at speed. With little to no rest. A circuit that might take me 4 minutes to get through 3 rotations will be completed in just over 3 minutes for 4 rotations.

It's a good way to train.

Next time you train forget about competing against anyone else in the room. Focus on your form and technique. Then become mindful, get inside the muscle groups you're working and feel what happening. Don't rush through, make it as hard as you can.

You'll feel it so much more.
