Busy day!
I was surprised that the gym wasn't as busy as I expected it to be. Although by the time I'd finished my class this evening it was heaving.
Locations are interesting. I catch a train from Bickley to London Citythameslink. This morning the early part of the journey was quiet and peaceful, then everything changed once we got to Bellingham. From Bellingham onwards the noise levels went through the roof, we went from a quiet carriage to a loud one.
Now here's a question is public loudness a class thing?
Almost every loud person on the train either talking loudly on their phone or shouting their business to their friends, seems to speak with a very broad south London accent.
Professionals talk quietly. Every now and then I've heard barristers talking on their phones, short to the point and you can barely hear them from a few feet away.
Try the same with a group of builders. Loud enough to drown out any music on an iPod.
Just an observation...
Years ago one of my personal tutors on my degree specialised in class distinctions. She could tell you things that as a working class boy I knew to be true but then explained them in a wider context, absolutely fascinating.
